Feb 01, 2005: Making good progress on the Pro Gas bike. I spend most every night
at the shop (MDR) working on it. It is pretty close to being finished, with just
a few minor things to be finished. We had an opportunity to take it to the local
track for some test-n-tune on January 22. It was a great success! We learned a
lot about the bike and came out with only a few minor things to fix. Here are
some pics of Karen on the bike:

June 23, 2004: Making more and more progress on the Pro Gas bike. We now have
our PMFR wheels. They look great! Shannon at MDR mounted the tires and I mounted
the PMFR brake rotors and I installed them on the bike. Bruce Woltz trimmed the
wheel spacers and I reinstalled the wheels last night. Karen's father, Larry,
made the tranny bearing support plate that I designed and its perfect. He also
made some linkage parts for the tranny shifter and they turned out great too.
Getting closer. Pics coming soon, I promise.
June 4, 2004: Making some slow but steady progress on the PG bike. Karen's father
is doing a great job machining some parts. This week I was able to install the
clutch release mechanism plate. Also fitted a bracket to mount the top motor
mount to the frame. Last night I dropped off the plate for welding and picked up
the front pulley w/starter nut installed. Looks great! Before we left for the
Atlanta race, I installed the PMFR front end. What a great looking part! Its still
not a roller, but its starting to look like a motorcycle. Stay tuned...
May 19, 2004: Well its been a while since I've made any updates on the Pro Gas bike.
Mostly because there has been very little progress on it so far. Shannon and Randy
at MDR have been extremely busy so I decided to bring it home to do what I can and
get things rolling (pun intended). Karen's father is a machinist and has been helping
out by making some parts needed to (a) secure the motor to the frame, (b) incorporate
a starter nut on the front belt pulley, (c) support the clutch release mechanism, and
(d) space the tranny sprocket. Mucho thanks to Larry for his talent and generosity. I
have been busy spec'ing out the parts for Larry and mounting the carbs. Got the intake
manifold installed last night and prepped the carbs by installing new needle/seat
assemblies. Thanks to Bruce Woltz for installing the ThunderJets on the Super D's. I
plan to get the carbs mounted to the intake tonight. Hopefully by the time we get back
from Atlanta I'll finally have the wheels and make a roller out of it and I'll finally
add some pics. Stay tuned...
March 15, 2004: Dave at D&G Chassis shipped the frame today! Its coming via a
ground carrier and should get here in a week or so. Once that arrives, the assembly
will really get going.
March 9, 2004: The bodywork arrived from Super Sound Composites last Friday.
It looks great and is super light.

Feb. 26, 2004: This is the first installment of the status of the Pro Gas bike build. This page will be updated periodically as we move forward in the project. At this time it looks like we will miss our season opener
in Phoenix, but we hope to be on the track in Dallas.

We received the motor this week from John Peek. It looks like
it will fit the bill nicely.

At this point we're still waiting for the frame. The tranny was sent to Dave
at D&G Chassis for fitment into the frame D&G is making. Once we get the frame,
we should be able to move quickly and install the front forks, wheels, motor,
primary drive, etc. Below is the spec sheet for the new Pro Gas bike. We hope to
run in the low 8s with the bike once we get it dialed in and I'm used to riding it.
